- If timing clocks are used, each player has 20
minutes.
- Shuffle and cut the pack. Take the top card of
each half and place face-up in the centre of the
table such as to achieve a maximum score.
- Shuffle the pack and cut again. The second-named
player deals three cards singly face-up to
opponent and self and places the rest of the pack
face-down to hand and starts the opponent's clock.
- First-named player takes the top card from stock
and places it face-up adjacent to the three in
front of him/her. He/she then picks up one of the
four cards and plays it to the table scoring
accordingly. A card picked up must be played.
Both players agree the score and enter it on
their score sheets. First player now stops the
clock and starts that of the opponent.
- Play proceeds in this manner until the pack is
exhausted, and the cards in front of the players
have been played out. Recorded scores should be
progressive throughout. Once agreed, mistakes in
scoring cannot be rectified. A player who exceeds
the time limit loses. In this event, the total
number of unplayed cards, including those in
front of the players, should be recorded at the
foot of the results slip.
- No card may be played that overlaps the table
edge.
- Both players initial the results slip which must
be handed to the controller. Scores will only be
used to separate ties.
