VOTING ARCHIVE

RACK 7:

A very interesting move. The final voting was:

Word Play Votes
FOE at c13a for 24 leaving CETU 149
CETE at b13a for 24 leaving FOU 91
COFT at b13a for 33 leaving EEU 84
FETE at b13a for 26 leaving COU 37
EFT at c13a for 27 leaving COEU 31
COTE at b13a for 24 leaving EFU 17

So what does simulation suggest. Who got it right? Here's what the machine says (10,000 2-ply iterations). I've also included other moves that got a mention, including FUZEE, UFO, CUTE and TUTEE.

Word Play Score
COFT at b13a for 33 Best
COTE at b13a for 24 - 1.25
FETE at b13a for 26 - 1.57
EFT at c13a for 27 - 1.64
CETE at b13a for 24 - 2.43
FOE at c13a for 24 - 4.04
FUZEE at o6d for 17 - 4.68
UFO at e6a for 22 - 5.86
CUTE at b13a for 24 - 9.57
TUTEE at l8d for 10 -13.56

I'll leave others to interpret these results, which I have to say weren't what I would have expected - in particular, I was surprised at how well EFT, and how poorly FOE performed. It would be interesting to see win% and standard deviation for all of these moves. FOE gives very little away, so given the scores, it might win more games than some of the moves that simulate better. Perhaps Mark Watkins could do a more comprehensive analysis?
