VOTING ARCHIVE

RACK 3:

Word Play Votes
JOR at e11a for 29 leaving LLSU 171
JOLLS at k3d for 32 leaving RU 128
JOLLS at b11a for 31 leaving UR 68
JO at f6a for 33 leaving LLRSU 31

And here are simulation results:

First I ran 1-ply, 25,000 iterations:

Word Play Score
JOLLS at b11a Best
JOR at e11a -0.39
JO at f6a -0.66
JOLLS at k3d -1.04

So very little to choose between the four moves.

However it was then suggested that this result might change with a deeper simulation, with the moves that leave the ULLS combination (JOR and JO) benefitting. These were the results after 6,000 3-ply simulations:

Word Play Score
JOR at e11a Best
JO at f6a -0.01 (!)
JOLLS at b11a -1.95
JOLLS at k3a -2.57

So it seems that given extra moves to sort out the rack, JOR and JO do turn out to be best. So this time it seems the big hitters (the three 20-vote players) got it wrong, with all three voting for JOLLS at k3d. Maybe there is hope for us all!
