The 5th Dutch Othello Open

Soon the 5th Dutch Othello Open will be held. Here are the details:

Date:

11-03-2001

Time:

10:00 (games start at 10:30 sharp)

Place:

European Go and Cultural Centre
Schokland 14 Amstelveen (maps on www.othello.nl)

Entry:

Hfl 20,- (Hfl 10,- for beginners/students/youngsters)

Format:

7 rounds modified swiss (everyone plays all rounds)
(nobody is eliminated, Everyone plays 7 rounds)

Prizes:

several nice prizes from our sponsors:

- Mattel NL (www.mattel.com)
prizes are for the best players, the best beginners and the 'lucky loser'

Drinks:

all regular type of drinks available

Lunch:

both warm and cold available

This is an open tournament, so everyone (from every country) is welcome. The last tournament, see www.othello.nl, was a great success. There were 28 players ranging in skill from beginner (having played only a few games) up to 5 WC qualifiers. The swiss format used to decide who plays vs. who in each round ensures everyone plays vs. equally skilled opponents each round.

Though it is not required we would appreciate you telling us in advance that you'll join. Please email to jancg@othello.nl if you'll come (or not).
