Maruyama is the 11th Meijin
This week in Shukan Shogi two title match games: the seventh and final game of the Meijin match between Sato and Maruyama and the second game of the Kisei match between Tanigawa and Habu. Of course, most attention focuses on the Meijin match where Maruyama played a very good game to get his first Meijin title.

The second game of the Kisei match also was a Kakugawari opening. The pattern of this match seems set: the player with a horrible middle game position will win the game. This time it was Habu with a lucky escape and the match has now become a best-of-three.
