Pros have fun when they play, too (sometimes). If you are playing Cho Hun-hyeon, don't be surprised if he starts humming Japanese folk songs, for example. But fun is often expressed on the board, and usually in the opening before things get too serious to joke about.
Here is the opening of a game between Yo Kaei 5-dan (White) and Fujisawa Hideyuki 9-dan in the Gosei in 1991. The same joseki - a "boring" one which is normally tucked well away at the bottom of pros' tool boxes - is played in two corners. Who's egging who on?
