PRIZE MONEY
Due to the reduced number of entrants (half of the expected field stayed at home to wash their hair as I reported earlier) the prize money has been reduced proportionately; i.e. about half of what was expected. This is a shame as the entrants here this week were expecting a big payout; as was organiser, Abraham Eitan, and all are disappointed. I hope that next year things go back to normal (200+ entrants) and that the hair washing is put off to another date.
I am told Istanbul is a beautiful City (I've not seen any of it - unless you count the view of the Bosphorus I can see at this very moment from my hotel room) and it is well worth the visit. So, make sure next year you get here; right?
