X22, Paul Magriel (USA) and partner Victoria Sminova (RUS) triumphed in the recent Double Consulting World Championship 2000. Their route to the finals was not an easy one. They defeated the very strong team of Dirk Schiemann (D) and Johannes Leverman (D) in the last eight and then beat an equally strong team comprised of Mike Svobodny (USA) and Morten Holm (DK) in the semi-finals.
Their opponents in the finals were a little known Russian team: Denis Jersov (RUS) and Andrej Melnik (RUS). However, the unexpected finalists could not sustain their run of wins and Paul and Victoria emerged the victorious pair.
