The 13th Nordic "Wide" Open is over, and the new champion is Lars Trabolt (DK). The 25 points final was shown on closed circuit television, and commented by Kit Woolsey. Lars Klammer (DK) who, up until the final, had outrolled and outplayed all opposition, got the first point of the final. But soon it was clear that he wasn't as sharp as we usually see him. Also, it seems that he had run out of good rolls. Despite this Klammer managed to keep up with Trabolt to 10-8, but then Trabolt took the next 9 points, and gave himself a 19-8 lead. Klammer never managed to close this gap, and the final score was a 25-11 victory for Trabolt. Congratulations to the topplayer from Jutland, and better luck next time to Klammer.
