Kasparovchess.com continues to grow, adding columns & features. The Dean of American Correspondence Chess Walter Muir has died. A winner has been announced for Chess Cafe's Holiday Quiz. A Spanish website discusses the importance of vitamins for playing a good game of chess. The USCF has opened a "members only" area of their website.

U.S. Chess Federation
The USCF announced this week a "members only" area of their website. This currently includes live coverage of the Corus tournament. The National Open will be held 17-19 March in Las Vegas. The U.S. Amateur Team Championships will be held in February at various locations. The University of Maryland Baltimore County A retained the top college chess title by dominating the 1999 Pan-American Intercollegiate Team Championship, held December 26-29 in Toronto, Canada.
