Bus Driver Strands Chess Kids
A group of middle school kids took a chartered bus from Texas to Arizona to compete in a national chess tournament. The bus driver decided to return to San Antonio without them. "They weren't ready to leave. They were in the middle of the award presentation. The team finished 10th and we had children place 15th, 17th, and 22nd. It was a big deal and an honor. To leave at that time would deprive the kids of an opportunity to be rewarded for all the work that they've done."
