British Chess Magazine
British Chess Magazine has been awarded the contract to produce Chess Moves and to edit the BCF website on behalf of the British Chess Federation. John Saunders will be Editor-in-Chief; GM John Emms will be Chess Moves editor and webmaster.

FIDE
FIDE Newsletter #2: the deadline for the submission of bids for the 2000 World Chess Championship and Women's World Chess Championship is now extended until 11 May 2000. China may organise 2000 world championships. Coaches may be licensed.

Susan Polgar
Polgar is suing FIDE for the women's World Championship title as well as monetary compensation. "FIDE decided to prevent Polgar from defending her title, back in August of last year. FIDE has declared the challenger, Ms. Xie Jun of China "Women World Champion" without a fight. The case is being heard at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, in Switzerland. FIDE has until May 30, 2000 to submit their defense documents."
