Round One

The first round of the MSO's FIDE KO prediction contest was hotly contested, with a high percentage of correct answers as the favorites dominated the early going - it will get harder!

Our winners are Ole Woldseth and "Taher k" with an excellent score of 30/36. To claim the prize, these two will have to face off in our quiz tie-breaker which will be held during our live Chat coverage of later rounds. Update: Ole Woldseth wins first quiz after playoff!

Other top clairvoyants were: Boris Dimitrijeski, "cjr" (well-known to us for his victories in our previous chat quiz contests - be afraid if you face him in a play-off) and Robert Roberts.

Our webmaster has compiled some interesting statistics from the first round of the competition:

Lowest score - apart from "p" who picked all the lower-rated seeds and accordingly scored 7/36 - was 21/36, attained by three nameless people. There were 44 correctly filled out entries. Mean score was 25.95/36, median score 26/36, modal score 25/36.
