Ladies vs. Veterans; The Flamenco
An interesting aspect of this annual face-off, sponsored by The Max Euwe Association,
is that it always derives its name from a local dance. The event has always been a nail-biter in the past - this
year it is a bit of a foot-stomper, as the older gentlemen show no signs of having come to dance.

Armenian Championships
The 59th Armenian Championships finished this week in Erevan.
Medals: 1.Karen Asrian 7.5 2.2.Levon Aronian 7.5 3.Artashes Minasian 7.
Asrian clinched the title on tie-break, but Aronian must have been quite satisfied with
scoring his third and final grandmaster norm.
