Hackett Team wins the Gold Coast Teams Championshp 2000

Fresh from victory in Japan, Paul Hackett and his twin sons, Jason and Justin, travelled to Surfers Paradise in Australia to compete in the Gold Coast Congress. The team was slightly changed - John Armstrong and Brigitte Mavromichaelis who were in the winning team at the NEC 2000 Championship, being replaced by Ursula and Ross Harper from Scotland.

The initial field was divided into two groups, with the Hackett team coming second to the Browne team in the Round Robin. Hackett went on to meet the winners of Group A, McMahon (Mary & Tim McMahon, Zoli Nagy and Boris Tencer) in the semi final. The Hackett team won comfortably by 151 - 47. In the other semi final Browne (Seamus Brown, Richard Brightling, Kylie Robb, Trev Nunn and Pablo Ravenna) beat Dalley (Bob Dally, Paul Lavings, David & Linda Stern) by 111 - 70.

In the final, Hackett beat Browne by 114 - 83.
