Hackett Team wins the Gold Coast Teams Championshp
2000
Fresh from victory in Japan, Paul
Hackett and his twin sons, Jason and Justin,
travelled to Surfers Paradise in Australia to compete in the Gold
Coast Congress. The team was slightly changed - John Armstrong
and Brigitte Mavromichaelis who were in the winning
team at the NEC 2000 Championship, being replaced by Ursula
and Ross Harper from Scotland.
The initial field was divided into
two groups, with the Hackett team coming second to
the Browne team in the Round Robin. Hackett
went on to meet the winners of Group A, McMahon (Mary
& Tim McMahon, Zoli Nagy and Boris Tencer) in the semi final.
The Hackett team won comfortably by 151 - 47. In the other semi
final Browne (Seamus Brown, Richard Brightling, Kylie
Robb, Trev Nunn and Pablo Ravenna) beat Dalley (Bob
Dally, Paul Lavings, David & Linda Stern) by 111 - 70.
In the final, Hackett beat
Browne by 114 - 83.
