Open Trials Stage IIIC (semi-final)

Prior to the semi-finals, the Mould team withdrew from the trials. They were replaced by Monachan (Ian Monachan, Unal Durmus, Espen Erichsen, Joe Fawcett-Glyn Liggins, Brian Senior), who had finished fifth in the Stage III round robin.

Silverstone (Victor Silverstone-Chris Dixon, Gus Calderwood-Dick Shek), the winners of the Stage III round robin, had choice of opponents and chose Monachan.

The remaining semi-final was between Burn (David Burn-Brian Callaghan, Gunnar Hallberg-Colin Simpson) and Hackett (Paul Hackett-Tony Waterlow, John Armstrong-Danny Davies, Jason Hackett-Justin Hackett).

The results of the semi-finals were as follows:-

Burn 330 beat Hackett 248
Monachan 266 beat Silverstone 222

The Burn and Monachan teams will meet in the final on 12-14 January to win the right to represent England in the European Championships in Tenerife next June.
