From an initial entry of 128 teams, the Hubert Phillips Bowl Final was played on Sunday 16th April at Manchester Bridge Club, between two Manchester teams captained by John Holland and Rhona Goldenfield.

The match was a close contest with the lead changing hands on each set, the Goldenfield team emerging victors by 620 points.

Rhona & Bernard Goldenfield won the Hubert Phillips in 1984 with John Hassett and Jeff Morris as team mates. Michelle Brunner has won the event six times.
Rhona and Michelle play together regularly and are part of the team currently competing for the chance to represent England at the World Teams Olympiad in Maastricht later this year.
