The London half of the fifth Mind Sports Olympiad is taking place
at South Bank University. Specifically, it is taking place
in the Facility of the Built Environment building at 202
Wandsworth Road.
A street map of the
surrounding area is available, courtesy of
streetmap.co.uk. We also
have recommended directions for you to approach the building by
several different means of transport:
BY UNDERGROUND: The nearest station is Stockwell, on the
Northern and Victoria lines. Exit the station, turn sharply left
and proceed along Binfield Road through the paved area next to
the block of flats.
BY NATIONAL RAIL: The nearest station is Wandsworth Road, on
the line from Victoria to London Bridge. Exit the station, turn
right and proceed along Wandsworth Road. The University is on
the left hand side and is approximately 10 minutes walk from
the station. (Visitors from South London may find it easier to
alight at Clapham Junction and travel by bus.)
BY BUS: Buses 77 and 77a pass the University.
Bus 77 travels from Tooting
through Earlsfield and Clapham Junction past the University,
then on to Vauxhall and Waterloo Station.
Bus 77a travels from Wandsworth
through Clapham Junction past the University, then on to
Westminster, Trafalgar Square and Aldwych. Buses 322, 45, 50
and 155 pass Stockwell station.
BY CAR: The University building is situated in Wandsworth
Road, opposite the junction with Landsdowne Way. Proceed down
Belmore Street for approximately 100 metres; the entrance to the
University car park is on the right.
CAR PARKING: Parking on site is by ticket only. We
encourage you to buy your tickets in advance, at a cost of
£3 per day or £15 per week. On the day, if space
permits, parking will be available at a cost of £5 per
day. The entrance barrier will be manned from 9 a.m. to
11 p.m. each day.
SPECTATORS: Spectators are welcome, but a charge of
£5 per day or £10 for the whole event will be
payable on arrival. Junior competitors will be provided with
one free pass for a parent who is supervising them during
their event. Accompanied children under the age of 12 are
free. Spectator passes may be bought in advance to avoid queueing
and their value may be used as part payment towards the
entrance fee for a MSO 5 tournament. Access to the playing
areas is restricted to passholders only.
FOOD AND DRINK: We hope to serve drinks within the
building and are in negotiations to use the venue's licenced
bar facilities. There are a number of other bars, cafés
and restaurants on Wandsworth Road.
SMOKING: The whole building operates a "no smoking"
policy.
ENQUIRIES: Telephone enquiries during the event should
be made on 07973 516718.
