Husband and wife double Gold!
Reluctant to take time out from an extended honeymoon
holiday, Rasa Miseikyte nevertheless took Gold
in the Tori Shogi. When she has more time at home she
prefers her 25 by 25 board making games last longer
than a long Lithuanian night.
Husband Eduard Werner, winner of the Tori
Shogi, plans to take in the sights of London
tomorrow, though he will take a travel Shogi set in
his rucksack...
Double World Champion!
Jan Palmgren added to his World title collection
when he stormed through the Continuo field yesterday.
Earlier he won the Boku World Championship. "Two out of
three ain't bad" he said, eyeing up Borderline for his
third World title to complete a memorable week.
The Indians continue to dominate in the Ron Banwell
Masters. Pentalya Harikrishna and Abhijit
Kunte move on to 3½/4. Nearest challengers
include Pravin Thipsay and Dibyendu
Barua! - Your correspondent will watch the action

Despite achieving bronze in the European Qualifier,

Covering the International scene BBC World Service
commentator, and former top county chess player,
David Edmunds, didn't take on the top seeds in the
Masters, sticking to radio where the soundbite is
mightier than even Kasparov's Sicilian!

anywhere you like, except vertically or horizontally
adjacent. Resign if you can't move! Challengers
welcome for the Learn to play and/or create a
