] SCHEDULE PUBLISHED FOR FIRST EVER 12-DAY OLYMPIAD EVENT
We're thrilled to return to the Manchester Conference Center at
UMIST, last year's very successful Mind Sports Olympiad venue,
for the eighth annual Mind Sports Olympiad. This year we are
co-operating with the British Historical Games Society once more
who are hosting their Britcon event in association with us; as a
result, this year's Olympiad will run from Thursday 19th August
up until Monday 30th August. It will be our biggest event yet!

Printed entry forms are being sent out, but there's no need to
wait for yours to arrive. Take a look at the online schedule,
work out which tournaments most appeal and use the online entry
form to sign up in good time. A "late entry" surcharge is applied
to entries postmarked after 1st August or made at the event; why
not beat the deadline by looking at the schedule on our web site
and then applying to enter using our online form?

] FIRST SCHOOLS DIVISION EVENT TAKES PLACE THIS WEEKEND
We're building upon the success of last year's UK Schools Quiz and
Intelligence Championships with a bigger, better second year of
competition; after a popular qualifying round, the highest-scoring
Primary and Secondary schools from around the country are sending
their top performers to the Schools Division event taking place on
the 10th and 11th of July. As well as the quiz and intelligence
championships, the UK Chess Challenge and UK Go Challenge will
provide challenges for young mind sports stars.
