] CHESS: ONLINE PARTY CELEBRATES KASPAROV-KRAMNIK MATCH

Chess fans have been waiting years for a match like this, but at last
it has arrived. We have commentary on all the games and a discussion
chat room where the emphasis is on entertainment which a wide variety
of daily contests for fun and prizes. Follow the games on Sundays,
Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays until November 4th.

] GO: THE MEIJIN MATCH

The Meijin title is one of the most respected of them all, but four-
time defending champion Cho Chikun is 0-3 behind in his match against
plucky challenger Yoda Norimoto. We have records of all the games in
the match and an exclusive behind-the-scenes photojournal of Game One
which took place in Amsterdam earlier in the year.

] BRIDGE: THE 3RD IOC GRAND PRIX GENERALI TROPHY

Bridge looks set to play a role in the Olympic Games in the future
as an attraction in Salt Lake City in 2002 and possibly as a medal
event in Turin in 2006. The World Bridge Federation are holding a top-
class international event under the auspices of the International
Olympic Committee and we have all the details.

] RESULTS FROM MIND SPORTS OLYMPIAD 4

There were a record-breaking five thousand and sixty-seven entries
at MSO 4 in London during August. We have details of the medalwinners
and complete sets of results from many of the events.

] THE MIND SPORTS OLYMPIAD SPREADS AROUND THE WORLD

As well as the global Mind Sports Olympiad in London, regional MSO
events have taken place in Korea, Japan and Singapore with further
countries expected to join the movement soon. Italy already has
announced detailed plans for its own Olympiad, set to take place
in Milan between December 7-10.

You must be a registered user on the MSO web site in order to
participate in any of our contests. If you haven't done so yet,
attempting to participate in any contest will bring you to a log in
screen where you can create your user profile. This user profile will
also allow you to do other things on the MSO web site such as
participating in the message boards and playing online games.

] $500 TRIVIA CONTEST ON ALTERNATE SUNDAYS!

MSO's Trivia Contest, conducted by well-known trivia expert, Trevor
Montague, is designed to test your trivia skills. What is the largest
country with a Mediterranean coastline? How many strings does a
Japanese Koto have? Fifty multiple-choice questions, fifteen minutes,
$500 for the winner. A new contest takes place every second Sunday.
Entry is free! Next contest will be at 5pm BST (9am PDT, noon EDT) on
SUNDAY, 15TH OCTOBER.

] $500 CREATIVITY CONTEST - OPEN 24 HOURS A DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK!

MSO's Creativity Contest, conducted by top author and columnist
William Hartston, is designed to get you thinking in new and
innovative ways. How many similarities can you think of between
Catherine Zeta-Jones and a plum? Do you have any original ideas for
things to do with the Solar System? Add your thoughts or vote on
other people's ideas. A new free contest starts every second Sunday.

Every fourth Sunday, we challenge the greatest computer programmers

program size, speed of execution and speed of entry) wins $500.
