National Quiz Championship setter and winner
Kevin is a 40 year old civil servant working in the Department of Culture, Media and Sport. His
quizzing pedigree is simply second to none. He is the only man to have achieved the 'treble' by
becoming a Brain of Britain champion, 15 to 1 Grand Champion and Mastermind champion,
during which he scored the highest ever score of 41 in the first round. Kevin was a double Gold
Medallist in last years Mind Sports Olympiad and became the first ever British Quiz Champion
during this years Olympiad.
Kevin is universally acknowledged to be the No 1 quiz player in
Britain and his latest media quiz exploits can be watched on Christmas Day when he will take
part in a special Millennium edition of 15 to 1 on Channel 4. The programme brings together 25
of the best contestants during the 11 year run of the series. Kevin has played in International
media quizzes and represented the UK in the 1989 series of 'Sale of the Century' down under
in Australia. Although Kevin is well versed in all areas of general knowledge his particular fields
of expertise are in history, geography, cinema, sport and current affairs.
Trevor is a 45 year old accountant, writer, quiz compiler, and fitness guru. His numerous quiz
show credits include victories in the Krypton Factor, Winner Takes All, Challenge of the South,
Countdown,Todays the Day and 15 to 1, in which he was found to be in breach of the
programme's rules and sued for the return of his Grand Final prize. Trevor is as well known in
his local community of Crawley as an athlete and has twice been Crawley Sportsman of the
Year and is currently training hard for a national fitness competition run by 'Zest' health
magazine in which Trevor has won through to the final 12 to battle it out for a Peugeot car in
Warwickshire next February.
Trevor is a former Brain of London and has just made the final of
the Brain of Mensa beating his dear friend and current title holder Ray Ward in the first round.
Trevor was a gold Medallist in last years Mind Sports Olympiad and organised the first ever
British Quiz Championship as part of this years competition. He has co-ordinated the setting
up of a National Quiz Organisation which is in its infancy but is necessary if quizzing is to
become a structured mind sport in the way that chess or bridge is.
Trevor has a 1,500 page
Encyclopaedia of Knowledge (published by Little, Brown and the Daily Telegraph) due out next
August and it is hoped this well researched work of reference will become the standard text for
settling disputes in quizzing much in the same way as Hoyle's is regarded in card games.
Although Trevor has won fame and fortune for his quiz exploits he says his favourite quiz
memory was last Christmas when he teamed up with the lovely Emma Noble on a spoof quiz
on the "This Morning with Richard and Judy" show and was rewarded with a full kiss on the lips
from Emma to the envy of many a red-blooded male.
Like Kevin, Trevor is a member of the "Mastermind Club" and through their involvement with the
club they have become firm friends who not only quiz together as team mates but also captain
opposing teams in the South London Quiz League and were first and second in this prestigious
league in 1999 and are once again vying for supremacy this year.
