MSO Cambridge 2001 is taking place in the University Centre. This
building is best known as the catering and social centre for graduate members
of the world-famous University of Cambridge. We are pleased to be able to use
its extensive conference and catering facilities for our first provincial
event in the UK.
 University Centre, Cambridge
The building has extensive food and drink facilities, with a cafe, a restaurant
and a bar as well as a major dining hall. MSO Cambridge 2001 participants
are required to use the facilities in the building rather than consuming their
own food or drink on the premises. It also features a reading room, a TV
room and a games room on the site.
The University Centre is just off Trumpington Street in Cambridge. If you're
coming into Cambridge by turning off the M11 motorway at junction 11, this is
the main road you will use on your way into the town. The centre is next to
Silver Street and the river. A
street map of the area is available
as is an
aerial photo, both courtesy of
Multimap.
Getting there
Parking a car in Cambridge city itself is expensive; we recommend that you
park your car in one of the "Park and Ride" depots outside the city centre
and take the bus into the heart of the city. Alternatively, public transport
connections to Cambridge are very good. For more information on public
transport in Cambridge and other tourist information, we recommend the
Local Area pages produced by the
University of Cambridge.
Accommodation
If you want to stay overnight in Cambridge, we recommend the following three
pages as sources of possible places to stay, again taken from the University
of Cambridge's tourist information page:
