Faster stronger higher... as Magnus wings in on a chariot!
They will come and they will conquer - those agile masters of Mind Sports
will take to the ring and contest for glory in
the Third Annual Mind Sports Olympiad, commencing this Saturday 21st
August, at the Olympia Conference Centre, London.
World Greats will challenge the record books, and others will have greatness
thrust upon them, in an Olympiad featuring over 40 events. Ranging
from the familiar; Chess, Backgammon, and Poker,
to the "exotic" Shogi, Go, and even as far as
the Creative Thinking and Memory championships,
the Mind Sports Olympiad promises to showcase the premier
talents in the Mind Sports field.
Proceedings on Saturday 21st will commence at 9:15 am with
a Photocall opportunity with Magnus Magnusson. Personalities
present will include: Demis Hassabis (23 year old multi-millionaire
Mind Sports Champion), Dominic O'Brien (Former World Memory Champion
and the man whose brain was insured for £1million!),
and Tony Buzan (creator of the Mind Mapping Technique, and
co-founder of M.S.O.).
At 10am, the Olympiad will be opened by the
undisputed Master of Ceremonies, Magnus Magnusson, who will be arriving
by a rather unusual means of transport, to oversee the Opening Ceremony.
The Mind Sports Olympiad runs from 21st-29th of August, at
London's Olympia Conference Centre. For the duration of the Event, a
fully operational Press Office will be situated on Level 2 of the
Centre. Fax and ISDN lines will be available for Press use. Please feel free
