What do Catherine Zeta Jones and a plum have in common?
Quite a lot actually!

Apart from the obvious, the potential answers can be manifold when you compete in the Mind Sports Olympiad's Creative Thinking Championship.

From beginners to experts, the thinking athletes of the world will come together for the third annual Mind Sports Olympiad (M.S.O.) which will be held during August 21-29 at London's Olympia Conference Centre.

Scientist estimate that we use less than 1% of our brain's potential - every day! The athletes competing in this year's Olympiad are an astonishing example of what can be achieved with a bit of Brain power. Try memorising Pi to 42,195 digits like Hiroyuki Goto of Tokyo or reading 3,850 words per minute like Sean Adam, the current holder of the world record for speed-reading.

Everybody has the capacity to increase their Brain Power.
Former World Memory Champion, Dominic O'Brien, is banned from casinos because of his amazing ability to recall cards, but when he was a schoolboy, he was always in trouble with his teachers for his appalling memory!

Demis Hassabis, 23, one of the youngest multi-millionaires in the UK, was a Chess Master at 12 and winner of eight medals at the 1998 Mind Sports Olympiad, including Gold in the Pentamind - a tournament in which entrants compete in 5 or more games or skills. Next year, Demis will more than match the earning power of Hollywood's highest paid stars!

Speaking of Stars..... the Stars of the Mind Sports Olympiad have more in common with their Hollywood counterparts than one might think. Both Madonna and Sharon Stone have IQs in the genius range!

The 1999 Mind Sports Olympiad features classic games such as Chess, Go, Bridge and Poker, international games such as Xiang Qi and real brain teasers like the Creative Thinking Championship and the World Memory Championship. The M.S.O. will comprise 40 major Mind sports with over 5000 entrants from 60 countries competing for £100,000 in prize money.

Mind Sports Stars are available for interview including Demis Hassabis and Tony Buzan (co-founder of Mind Sports Olympiad and creator of the Mind Mapping technique).

For further information and M.S.O. Star interview requests, please contact Jackie Cooper PR (contact details deleted - contact David Levy at the address below instead.)
