We are pleased to announce the results from the 8th Mind Sports Olympiad, which took place in the Manchester Conference Centre at UMIST, between Thursday 19th August 2004 and Monday 30th August 2004.

  • The procedural details of the tournament are now available
  • Qualification will be through a test conducted during the Spring term in all competing schools.

  • The results of the Team Championship will be determined within the Individual Championship - the score for each school team will be the total scores of that school's four top scoring pupils.
  • First prize: £250

  • Pentamind: 17.5 hours
  • Prizes: 1st place £1,000, 2nd place £750, 3rd place £500, plus additional prizes of cash and electronic copies of the Encyclopaedia Britannica to winners of the individual disciplines.
  • Prizes generously sponsored by SI Group, Carta Mundi and Encyclopædia Britannica.
  • Organised in association with the World Memory Sports Council.

  • There will be a nationwide pub quiz qualifying competition in June - for details please visit this site from time to time. Anyone failing to pre-qualify for the Individual Championship from the June event may have another attempt to do so on the morning of the final (August 28).

  • Open only to pre-qualifiers from the June Pub Quiz event and to those who qualify from the morning round.
